Dr Joyce Beardsell MBBS FRACGP DRANZCOG

Dr Joyce Beardsell’s career began in country Tasmania followed by working in remote Western Australia as a doctor for the Royal Flying Doctor Service so she has a wealth of knowledge in emergency care. Originally from Tasmania and traveling further afield to Canada she has considerable experience in rural medicine. She settled in Galston 21 years ago and is well known amongst the community as a gentle, caring GP with a wide range of experience.

She has a keen interest in chronic disease management including management of specific conditions including diabetes. She has an interest in the management of haemochromatosis and performs therapeutic venesections for this condition. She has a lot of experience in the health of the ageing population in all stages of ageing which includes community visits to residential care facilities and the home providing support and guidance to families and carers. She has a diploma in Women’s Health with extensive experience in reproductive health and the insertion of Implanon devices, cervical screening and antenatal care. She is a registered antenatal shared-care provider with Hornsby, North Shore and Ryde Hospitals.

Dr Beardsell has experience with dealing in a range of mental health issues affecting all ages including adolescents. She is interested in all aspects of your family’s health and experienced in childhood illnesses, vaccination requirements, infant and healthy kid checks as well as behavioural management. Dr Beardsell is a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners.
